For use as the first socket-outlet on a direct exchange line or PABX line. It contains surge protectors for line protection against electrical surges and capacitors. Any number of sockets may be installed thereafter with a maximum of five telephones normally being allowed on one exchange line. For use as a UK telephone single surface master socket. Specification 2/4A master socket with 3.5mm fixing screws. Telephone master socket contains surge suppressor ring capacitor and test resistor.
