Rustins Strypit paint and varnish stripper remover has a new formula. Strypit is a non-caustic dichloromethane-free gel suitable for removing multiple coats of paints and varnishes applied to wood, metal, glass, stone and masonry surfaces. Rustins Strypit works best when applied liberally and allowed to penetrate after two applications. The gel consistency permits effective use on vertical surfaces. The rate of coverage is approximately 5m sq per litre. Use appropriate personal protection including gloves and eye protection. Shake tin well and remove cap carefully holding the tin away from face. Brush on liberal coat with dabbing action. Leave until paint begins to soften or blistered, softened paint. Leave for a further 30 to 40 minutes. Remove the blistered, softened paint with a stripping knife or scraper. If any paint or vanish remains, repeat the process. Use steel wool to remove paint from curved surfaces. Wash down the surface thoroughly with water and allow to dry completely. Not suitable on fibreglass, rubber and some plastics.
