This stud and socket kit is just one way of having a bookcase with adjustable shelves. No need for tools to move the shelf or shelves up or down. The sockets are fixed in level pairs down each side of the timber frame and the 'Banjo' shaped studs inserted. The wooden shelf simply rests on these Banjos.
